Cameron Severns is running for State Representative for Legislative District 25, Position 1. He has spent over a decade serving the Tacoma and Puyallup community, and he would love to continue his service in a public capacity.

Respect for Others

Cameron grew up in Spokane, WA, and graduated from Central Valley High School. His parents still live in Spokane, where his father is a high school teacher and coach and his mother is a medical-billing professional. Cameron’s father is a Democrat and his mother is a Republican, and they have been married for 35 years. Through their differences, they taught Cameron how to engage in healthy political discourse.

A Representative of the Community

“I chose to run for office because I love the people of Tacoma and Puyallup. When evictions and job losses pushed me to the fringes, this community didn’t give up on me. You helped me get back on my feet, and now I am in a position to give back as your advocate in Olympia,” said Severns. “If elected, I will work everyday to give back to a community who has given so much to me. We have work to do that will require collaborative, common sense leadership to move us forward to a safer, healthier, and more prosperous district.”

Severns and his wife, Jennifer, have made the Summit-Waller area their home, where they are devoted members of the community. Together, they have built local businesses in housing and insurance. He and his wife are both active in their local church, where Severns leads an addiction-recovery ministry and teaches Sunday school; he is also the treasurer of Family Promise of Pierce County, a nonprofit that helps families experiencing homelessness.

Severns enters the race with an early and enthusiastic endorsement from Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland. “I endorse Cameron Severns for State Legislature in the 25th District. His practical approach, bipartisan mindset, and track record of supporting our community make him the right choice for his district. Join me in supporting Cameron for real, effective representation.” said Congresswoman Strickland.

Cameron is excited to bring your concerns to Olympia and advocate for a safer 25th Legislative district where everyone can thrive.
